COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Michigan basketball had a chance to spoil Maryland's Big Ten title hopes.
Instead, the Terrapins defended their home court, clinching a share of the conference title by beating Michigan, 83-70.
The Wolverines enter the postseason with a 19-12 record and went 10-10 in conference play.
They open the Big Ten tournament vs. Rutgers on Thursday at noon in Indianapolis.
The loss leaves Michigan with a 1-3 record over its final four games of the regular season, providing an interesting lens with which to view the team's postseason hopes.
