For the second year in a row, the Michigan basketball team will take on the Montana Grizzlies in the first round of the NCAA tournament and this time, it will feature the Wolverines as the two seed in the West Region against the 15th-seeded Grizzlies.
While rematches in the NCAA tournament aren’t unheard of, I don’t remember two teams being paired in the first round against each other in back-to-back years, so it’s a little strange. As far as which team gets the advantage from that, I’d have to say Montana.
The Griz are already going to have a feel for the way Michigan basketball plays on both offense and defense and the personnel, outside of some key changes, is largely the same.
