Michigan’s 2020 recruiting efforts came to a grinding halt upon former coach John Beilein's departure. And then, they spun back up over the course of the past month-and-a-half as the new staff hit the road and began to pursue targets.
To a certain degree, things have become clearer after the past four days, the second evaluation period for grassroots basketball. The biggest event, of course, was the Nike EYBL Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina, which drew Michigan head coach Juwan Howard and assistant coaches Saddi Washington, Phil Martelli and Howard Eisley at different points.
Michigan’s staff also attended the Adidas Gauntlet Summer Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, the Under Armour Finals in Atlanta and the Peach Jam Invitational, comprised of teams that didn’t qualify for the Peach Jam.
