OMAHA, Neb. — In their first chance at the national championship, Michigan baseball is starting with Isaiah Paige.

Paige, a redshirt freshman right-hander, was head coach Erik Bakich’s choice to start Game 2 of the College World Series finals against Vanderbilt on Tuesday night.

Though sophomore righty Jeff Criswell was thought to be the likely choice, Bakich went with Paige, who served as the Wolverines’ primary mid-week starting pitcher during the regular season.
