Michigan baseball's College World Series run proves it can hang with powerhouses

When Michigan baseball beat No. 1 seed UCLA, 4-2, on Sunday night to advance to the College World Series, the Wolverines became just the second Big Ten team to reach Omaha in the past 35 years.

The feat's significance wasn't lost on the players.

“It shows that the Big Ten and the north can play baseball," said first baseman Jimmy Kerr. "They can hang with the other guys.
