Michigan's baseball team won its Big Ten Tournament opener on Wednesday afternoon in dramatic fashion.
With the bases loaded, first baseman Jesse Franklin hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Wolverines, the No. 3 seed, a 1-0 victory over No. 6 seed Iowa at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska.
Michigan (33-19), which allowed just one hit, advances to face the winner of No. 2 seed Purdue and No. 7 seed Ohio State at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The Hawkeyes opened the scoring in the second inning on a fielding error by Franklin.
