BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- A three-run ninth by Northwestern stunned Michigan, sending the second-seeded Wolverines to the loser’s bracket of the double-elimination Big Ten baseball tournament with a 6-4 defeat.
Michigan saw Northwestern grab the initial 1-0 lead, with a solo home run by Connor Lind in the top of the second, before the Wildcats took a 3-1 lead on Alex Erro's two-run home run in the third.
Senior centerfielder Johnny Slater hit a two-out strike home run to right, bringing the Wolverines within a run in the home-half of the third inning.
