With no mid-week game on the schedule last week, the Michigan baseball team came into the weekend well-rested for a three-game series at home against Long Beach State. With a break in the conference schedule, the Wolverines entered the series looking to get their record on the right side of .500.
Things got started Friday night at Ray Fisher Stadium with Kurt Barr on the mound for Michigan. Thanks to some erratic pitching from the Dirtbags, Michigan was able to get on the board for two runs in the third inning. However, Long Beach State would strike back quickly in the fourth, tacking on three runs and taking a 3-2 lead.
