On one of the great days of his Michigan tenure, baseball coach Erik Bakich capped it with some big news.
He's staying at U-M, it appears.
Bakich was reportedly a candidate for the vacant South Carolina job but tweeted a handwritten note Wednesday night, saying he's remaining in Ann Arbor.
Some figured the Southeastern Conference was an appealing offer, where he had worked as an assistant during Vanderbilt's glory days in the late 2000s.
But Michigan's administration apparently enticed him to stay.
"Thank you to Michigan, Warde Manuel, Bitsy Ritt, our coaches, staff and players for allowing me to continue to wear the Block M," the note said.
