The University of Michigan's athletic department has projected $196.3 million in revenues for the 2020 fiscal year, with a balanced budget featuring $196.3 million in operating expenses.
That's up roughly $6 million from the final projection for the 2019 fiscal year, which landed at $190.7 million. The athletics budget was formally presented to the Board of Regents in Ann Arbor on Thursday.
In 2019, Michigan projected an athletic department surplus of $1 million, with $189.7 million in expenses.
Michigan has routinely ranked toward the top nationally in overall athletic department revenue.
