Former Michigan forward Cooper Marody is living out is NHL dream.
The Wolverines' leading scorer last season, who finished sixth in the NCAA with 51 points (16 goals, 35 assists), was called up to the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday from the team's American Hockey League affiliate, Bakersfield Condors.
Marody, a 2015 sixth-round draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers, decided to forego his senior season and sign with the Oilers following Michigan's NCAA Tournament exit last year.
The 6-foot, 184-pounder impressed the coaching staff in three preseason games with Edmonton, recording an assist. He had a strong start with the Condors, registering two goals and four assists in five games.
