With the Oakland Raiders on the clock at 140 overall in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, former Michigan Wolverine Maurice Hurst was FINALLY selected.
The 6-foot-1, 292-pound defensive tackle slipped in the draft due to a heart condition that was picked up in the beginning of March. He was cleared by University of Michigan doctors, along with physicians at Stanford. Despite all that, he still fell all the way to the fifth round, which was a huge shock, in my opinion.
Hurst joins a loaded front seven in Oakland, featuring Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin, among others.
