If there were any Seattle Kraken fans losing sleep over whether Michigan hockey sophomore Matty Beniers would turn pro this month — well, they’ll be sleepless no more.
The No. 2 overall pick in last summer’s NHL draft announced his departure from Ann Arbor on Sunday with a tweet featuring a Photoshopped picture (tagged with the Kraken’s Twitter account) of himself in a Michigan uniform staring across Puget Sound at the Seattle skyline.
The accompanying message: “See you soon,” with a octopus — or "kraken," if you squint — emoji.
Indeed, the Wolverines forward is headed to the NHL.
