Louisville's Brian Bowen hires attorney, seeks reinstatement from NCAA

Brian Bowen wasn't specifically named by the FBI, but the dots have been connected.

The five-star basketball recruit was suspended indefinitely by Louisville last week, and nowh as hired a lawyer seeking his reinstatement, according the Courier-Journal. The Cardinals, under interim coach David Padgett, began workouts Sunday.

Bowen, a Saginaw native, remains on campus.

Last week, the FBI alleged that $100,000 was funneled to "Player 10" by representatives of Adidas, ensuring that top recruit signed with Louisville. Although unnamed, Bowen fit the FBI's description and was later suspended from team activities.

"We all know Brian Bowen's status right now," Padgett said Friday at his introductory press conference.
