Lockwood’s UM hockey season uncertain after injury

Ann Arbor — Michigan’s hockey team was dealt a big blow with the loss of sophomore forward Will Lockwood, who will be sidelined at least a month and possibly the season due to an injury suffered in last week’s World Junior Championships.

Lockwood, who had shoulder surgery last summer, suffered an upper-body injury while playing for the U.S. team, which went on to win a bronze medal in Buffalo, N.Y.

Lockwood had four goals and 11 points in 16 games for the Wolverines this season while playing on the line of freshman Josh Norris and sophomore Jake Slaker.
