Ann Arbor – Les Miles returned to Michigan, his alma mater, for the first time since his coach Bo Schembechler’s funeral 10 years ago, and was easily the most popular man on campus.
Miles, hounded by former teammates, longtime friends and fans for photographs and a few words, attended Michigan’s final regular-season game against Indiana on Saturday. He was fired earlier this season by LSU, where he won a national championship.
Also making appearances at the game Saturday were legendary sports broadcaster Dick Enberg and Pirates manager Clint Hurdle. But Miles, who spent time Saturday with Dan Dierdorf, Jim Brandstatter and Jim Betts, was the draw.
