Kornacki: The Stories Behind U-M's Big Ten Tournament Title

The celebration begins for goalie Steve Racine and the Wolverines

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The University of Michigan's first Big Ten ice hockey title was about so many things. The 5-3 win over Minnesota in the tournament final Saturday night (March 19) was about a never-say-die spirit, a power play that was undeniable, and a defense and goalie that rose to the occasion.

The entire team rushed goalie Steve Racine at the final horn, and the mass of humanity uprooted the goal pipes from their moorings before taking the whole celebration into the boards.
