Once considered a jewel in Michigan’s recruiting efforts, Kareem Walker will continue his playing career at Fort Scott Community College in Kansas. News hit in June that the former No. 1 running back prospect in the nation was leaving Ann Arbor, and his new coach, Kale Pick, revealed that the transfer was official on Monday.
Walker had a tumultuous run at Michigan, enrolling early as part of Jim Harbaugh’s second recruiting class, but sitting out his first year because of struggles in the classroom.
He finally saw the field as a redshirt freshman last fall, but played a limited role in the Wolverines’ struggling ground game, seeing action in only five games.
