Farmington Hills — So, Khalid Kareem won’t be playing for Alabama after all.
Kareem, a four-star defensive end at Farmington Hills Harrison, posted on Twitter on Wednesday morning that he’s decommitted from Alabama.
“After careful consideration and a lot of heart felt talks with my mother,” Kareem tweeted, “In my (family’s) best interest we’ve informed the Coaches that I am decommitted from the University of Alabama at this time.”
Kareem had originally committed to Michigan State back in February, but decommitted a short time later.
Back in June, Kareem told the football world during a news conference held on Harrison’s field and broadcast by ESPN that he was attending Alabama over 38 other schools, feeling he had the best chance to play his freshman year.
