Jumpman's coolness could boost U-M recruiting

Who knew that a logo featuring a basketball player who hasn't played in a dozen years — and wasn't very popular around here to begin with — would be such a big deal?

Apparently, it's more than the shoes.

The announcement that Michigan would be the first football program to feature Michael Jordan's Jumpman logo instead of the swoosh is resonating far beyond the $169 million that the Nike deal is going to pay the school.

Maybe even as far as Ohio.
