Jim Harbaugh: Wolverines' Wilton Speight will go into 2017 as a star

Redshirt sophomore quarterback Wilton Speight was voted the most improved player as the Michigan Football Bust on Tuesday, after going from one of the team's few preseason question marks to third-team All-Big Ten honors.

That didn’t surprise his mother, Martha, who helped him accept his award at the dais.

“Well, considering the first pass of the season, I would think it’d be pretty tough if he hadn’t improved,” she said to roars of laughter, recalling Speight's season-opening interception against Hawaii. “To be honest, Wilton, when you made that pass, I think I was the only one in the Michigan fan base that was relieved, because I knew what was going to happen after that pass.
