ANN ARBOR -- Michigan came in to the season touting its two-headed monster at running back. Head coach Jim Harbaugh called Karan Higdon and Chris Evans a "1-1 punch." On Saturday, both players experienced injuries.
Michigan beat SMU 45-20 without Higdon, who had the bulk of the carries in Michigan's first two games (34 out of 54 running back carries, to be exact). The senior was dressed and participated in pregame warmups but was on the bench for the entirety of the game.
"Karan was a game-time decision," Harbaugh said afterwards, not expanding on the injury itself.
