The University of Michigan announced Wednesday head coach Jim Harbaugh was named a semifinalist for the George Munger Head Coach of the Year Award.
According to the official press release, Harbaugh has led U-M to 10-win seasons in three straight years. Only one other U-M coach has ever done that — Fielding H. Yost.
Harbaugh is also the lone coach in the Big Ten on the semifinalist list. It’s a bit of a shock to me to not see Urban Meyer on this list; his team is 10-1, the same record as Michigan’s, and is a nationally-recognized head coach.
