Jim Harbaugh: Michael Dwumfour's outlook after injury 'better than it looked'

Ann Arbor — Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was non-committal regarding injury updates Monday, but suggested the injury Michael Dwumfour suffered in the Maryland game might not be as serious as first thought.

Late in the first half, Dwumfour had to be taken off the field on a cart. His teammates gathered around him and the defensive players gave him encouraging pats on his helmet before heading for evaluation. It appeared to be an issue with his right lower leg.

“We think better than it looked,” Harbaugh said Monday.

Receiver Tarik Black, who broke his right foot the week before the opener, met with doctors over the weekend and continues to “progress nicely” Harbaugh said.
