Jim Harbaugh makes mid-season coach of the year watch list

The lists of candidates for college football's annual coach of the year award has been cut from 20, and Jim Harbaugh is still on there.

Michigan's head coach as one of 17 on The Dodd Trophy mid-season watch list released on Thursday by the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

Harbaugh was one of three Big Ten coaches still standing, joining Penn State's James Franklin and Wisconsin's Paul Chryst on a list that includes Nick Saban (Alabama), Kirby Smart (Georgia) and Dabo Swinney (Clemson).

Notably missing from the list, after appearing on it to start the season, is Ohio State coach Urban Meyer.
