ROME – Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh stood in front of the Trevi Fountain, which dates back to ancient Roman times.
“It’s the most beautiful fountain I’ve ever seen,” he told the tour leader.
Harbaugh walked down the steps and turned around, his back facing the water, looking like every other tourist who stops at this famous fountain.
Then, Harbaugh chucked a coin over his shoulder while making a wish.
At least, I think it was a single coin. I couldn’t get close enough because there was a gaggle of photographers and cameras perched in front of him, recording his every move as he walked the streets of Rome on Monday with the Michigan football team.
