ANN ARBOR -- Jabrill Peppers has added an award to his shelf.
Michigan's redshirt sophomore linebacker/defensive back was named the 2016 recipient of the Lott IMPACT Trophy on Sunday at a ceremony in Los Angeles.
The Lott Trophy is given annually to college football's top defensive player on and off the field.
With the award -- named after Hall of Fame safety Ronnie Lott -- the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation will present a $25,000 check to Michigan's general scholarship fund.
Peppers is the first Michigan player to win the award. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound defender has also won the Hornung Award for the country's most versatile player and the Big Ten defensive of the year honor.
