ANN ARBOR -- If there's a testament to what a year can do for your confidence, Ambry Thomas is it.
Michigan's sophomore defensive back enrolled early in 2017, allowing himself to get a jump start on his freshman season.
And while he went through winter conditioning and spring practice with the Wolverines, the teaching continued in a fast and furious manner come fall.
"I was messing up," Thomas said Thursday, more than a full season under his belt now. "Just everywhere. Playing ball at that point."
By "ball," Thomas admits, it was the equivalent of playing a brand of street basketball, opposed to learning the nuances and fundamentals of the game.
