ANN ARBOR -- John Beilein's coaching career has been a 40-year climb. High school. Community college. Division III. Division II. Division I mid-major. The Big East. And, for the past 11 years, Michigan. There was just more rung on that ladder -- the NBA -- and it presented itself recently in the form of the Detroit Pistons' head coaching job.
Beilein decided to keep his feet planted in Ann Arbor.
"I love the University of Michigan," he tweeted Wednesday, his first public comments of any sort since the news of his interview with the Pistons surfaced.
