OMAHA, Neb. — Their final meeting began a minute early, at 3:14 p.m. Central on Wednesday afternoon, when a Michigan baseball staffer closed the door to the Dodge Ballroom on the second floor of the downtown Omaha Marriott, exactly an hour and 47 minutes earlier than their team meetings throughout the season.
