Newly acquired Indiana Pacers guard Caris LeVert said he was feeling great, without any pain in his lower back or fatigue when he learned during his post-trade physical last week that a mass had formed on his left kidney.
LeVert said he's had multiple meetings with doctors to discuss treatment, but as of Tuesday, he said he does not know whether the mass is cancerous and he has not undergone any procedures to remove the mass. A timetable for any procedures and LeVert's return to the court has not been determined.
The five-year pro said he knew his name was involved in trade discussions dating back to August, and despite leaving the place where he started his career, the trade and ensuing physical may have saved his life.
