OKLAHOMA CITY -- Mike and Melissa Romero woke up at the downtown Sheraton Hotel on Saturday and both drew a long pause.
"So," Mike Romero finally said, "Who do you think is gonna win?"
About 15 hours later, a bit after midnight in Oklahoma, they had an answer.
For Mike and Melissa Romero, Saturday unfolded unlike any other day in 22 years of parenthood. One daughter, Sierra Romero, a Michigan senior and the national player of the year, faced another daughter, Sydney Romero, an Oklahoma freshman and one of the country's top first-year players, on one of the biggest stages in women's athletics -- the 2016 Women's College World Series.
