With Michigan’s 2018 recruiting class being bigger than originally thought, and with several players transferring in, it was only a matter of time before more current soon-to-be fifth-year seniors announced their departure from the school.
Today’s announcement comes from tight end Ian Bunting, who posted on Instagram his intentions to transfer and get his graduate degree.
The redshirt junior did not heavily contribute to the team this year, as Sean McKeon and Zach Gentry leaped over Bunting and Tyrone Wheatley Jr. on the depth chart. With Nick Eubanks coming back healthy next season, and with several freshman tight ends coming into the program, this seemed like an easy decision to make for Bunting if he wants to get more playing time.
