Former University of Michigan football player and Robert Anderson survivor Jon Vaughn knew this was coming.
Vaughn, 51, began a sit-in outside of U-M President Mark Schlissel’s house at about 7 p.m. Friday, and said he’s going to be there as long as it takes to see some real change. He has been working with a nutritionist and trainer so that he’s prepared mentally and physically to sleep outside and fast for long periods.
U-M has now received more than 2,000 complaints of alleged abuse by the late Dr. Robert Anderson, an athletic team doctor who retired from his role at U-M in 2003 and died in 2008.
