Ann Arbor – Michigan needed fireworks in a seventh-inning comeback effort and got them with a four-run surge to win its Super Regional and claim a spot in the Women’s College World Series.
The second-ranked Wolverines trailed 4-1 entering the seventh and rallied to defeat Missouri, 5-4, on Sunday. Michigan will make its second straight World Series appearance after finishing as the national champion runner-up last season. This will be the Wolverines’ third appearance in the last four years.
Michigan, which gave up a late costly three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth, trailed 4-1 entering the top of the seventh.
