Five days after Michigan football’s spring game in April 2019, Myles Sims began the process of leaving the Wolverines for good.
The cornerback had just spent his freshman season on the margins of the roster and redshirted. Now, his position on the team seemed uncertain as the Wolverines began to lay the foundation for its upcoming season. As coach Jim Harbaugh cataloged his team, he said merely that Sims was “in the mix” for a reserve role, which didn’t bode well if Sims had designs on playing regularly.
