On Saturday against Texas, the Michigan Wolverines had 204 receiving yards. In comparison to Texas’ 246 passing yards, the Wolverines’ stat doesn’t seem worrisome. After all, it’s not too far off.
But that figure doesn’t paint the full picture. Of those 204 yards, 131 of them came in the fourth quarter when the Longhorns were already ahead by 25 points. Essentially, the only time Michigan’s receivers looked cohesive was when there was nothing to play for.
The first three quarters were a totally different story. Struggling to create space and execute their routes, the Wolverines’ receivers struggled mightily.
