How Michigan football's on-field success translated into flurry of high-level signings

On Oct. 11, as Michigan football entered its bye week with a 6-0 record, coach Jim Harbaugh was asked how he and the assistants would spend their time in the coming days. His answer described a mixture of preparing for future opponents, self-scouting, some on-field work and, of course, recruiting.

“Nothing helps recruiting, by the way, better than winning,” Harbaugh said that day. “So we keep a huge focus on that. But yeah, get some more hours in the day to be able to put concentration and focus on recruiting youngsters to the great state of Michigan and, specifically, the University of Michigan.
