Around 10 a.m. Saturday morning, Raheem Anderson received two pieces of mail from Michigan football.
The first: An official scholarship letter that confirmed Anderson's place in the Wolverines' 2021 recruiting class, offering the Detroit Cass Tech star "maximum grant-in-aid permitted by the NCAA."
He knew the official scholarship offer would come Aug. 1, the first day colleges could send them to recruits, but the moment was special all the same.
Then Anderson kept reading. And he came upon another letter that, for him and his family, is just as important as his scholarship offer: A guarantee of scholarship in the case of career-ending injury.
