The 2021-22 NCAA hockey season was one of success for the state of Michigan. In addition to Adrian’s first-ever Division III national title, three of the state’s seven Division I hockey programs made the NCAA tournament, with Michigan and Western Michigan both earning No. 1 seeds in the 16-team field.
WMU picked up its first-ever win in the NCAAs, but lost in the regional final; U-M, meanwhile, advanced to the Frozen Four for the 26th time in program history before losing in overtime to eventual champion Denver.
Adrian opens its championship defense with a visit to Bowling Green on Oct.
