The Michigan Wolverines’ hockey program began their 2024-25 season this weekend in Ann Arbor, welcoming in the Minnesota State Mavericks for a two-game series at Yost Ice Arena. After struggling mightily in Game 1, the Wolverines rebounded in Game 2 to split the series.
Here’s how it all went down this weekend.
Game 1
Michigan out-shot Minnesota State, 13-4, in the first period, but failed to put any goals on the scoreboard. However, the Wolverines scored first thanks to a William Whitelaw power play goal on a beauty of a one-timer. 1-0, good guys.
