One of the surprise contributors of the first half of the season last year was tight end / H-back Khalid Hill, who started three games despite being just a redshirt freshman. He progressively worked himself more and more into the offense, but that development came to a sudden end in the week leading up to the Penn State game when he tore his ACL.
Jim Harbaugh said in his Media Day press conference on Thursday that Hill was ready to practice, but that the coaches were waiting to see how he performs in fall camp.
