Here’s why Jim Harbaugh is no longer serving as honorary captain for Michigan’s home opener

Announced to the media during a press availability on Tuesday, Sherrone Moore said that former head coach Jim Harbaugh is no longer set to be the honorary captain for the Michigan Wolverines’ Week 1 matchup with Fresno State.

The reason? He doesn’t want to leave his current team behind, while also not being a distraction to Team 145.

“Yesterday, he called me, told me that he didn’t feel that he could leave his team, in true coach Harbaugh fashion, and wanted to be in the foxhole with his team and not want to make it look like he was taking a deep long bow,” Moore said.
