One year ago, Michigan football entered the season as a College Football Playoff contender.
The Wolverines were No. 7 in the preseason Amway Coaches Poll. And in the cleveland.com preseason poll, Big Ten writers picked U-M to win the conference title — the first year since 2012 that the poll predicted Michigan as the conference champion.
Much has changed since then.
The Wolverines finished 9-4 in 2019, dropping three conference games before losing to Alabama in the Citrus Bowl. It was a disappointing finish for a veteran team that had hopes of winning the Big Ten for the first time since 2004.
