Healthy Megan Betsa eyes big season for Michigan softball

Senior right-hander Megan Betsa sat out 10 weeks in the fall with a stress fracture in her back but said she’s better than ever entering her final softball season at Michigan.

Betsa received cortisone shots to get through last season, then used a 10-week break.

Betsa said she originally was supposed to take 6-8 weeks to rest. “It ended up being about 10 weeks of no pitching, no impact on anything,” she said.

“Just doing some light spin work. I did a lot of swimming in the pool, which I really enjoyed.”

Coach Carol Hutchins said giving Betsa that time off was done so she’d be ready now.
