ORLANDO – In practice, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh would stand behind the offensive formation.
He would crouch over, gazing intently, as if watching through the eyes of a player.
And then, he would stop everything and come up with a suggestion.
Like a kid drawing a play in the dirt.
“He would be like, ‘Try this for me,’ ” running back Drake Johnson said.
“We are like, ‘Word?’ ” Johnson continued. “He would just make up plays on the spot.”
Sometimes, the truth is, Johnson didn’t think some of the suggestions would work.
