Vatican City — The personal highlight of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s trip to Rome with his team was meeting Pope Francis last Wednesday during the general audience in St. Peter’s Square.
He and wife, Sarah, both called it a life-changing experience to shake hands with Pope Francis and share a meaningful exchange. But the couple completed their trip witnessing their infant son, John Paul, baptized, and eight-year-old daughter Addie having her first communion Sunday at the Church of Saint Anne in the Vatican. They were accompanied by several family members, including his parents, Jack and Jackie Harbaugh, and oldest son, Jay Harbaugh.
