Harbaugh: Wilton Speight, John O'Korn 'have really stepped up' in QB race

Jim Harbaugh made it clear: he will take however much time he needs to find Michigan’s starting quarterback before its season opener against Florida.

He has also said that it usually takes eight to 15 practices for one guy to emerge. The Wolverines are right in that sweet spot after fall camp began July 31.

And while Harbaugh didn’t name a starter tonight, it became apparent that progress in the competition has been made when he named the leaders in the clubhouse.

“John (O’Korn) and Wilton (Speight) have really stepped up,” Harbaugh said. “They’ve created a little bit separation, and they’re battling it now.
