Harbaugh stops, helps Ann Arbor police officer move fallen tree during ice storm

Ann Arbor — Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, who once famously climbed a tree during a recruiting visit, helped an Ann Arbor police officer move a tree blocking a road Wednesday night during the ice storm.

The Ann Arbor Police Department, in a Twitter post thread Thursday, hailed Harbaugh as a “Good Samaritan” after his assist. Officer Howard Cooper was at Devonshire and Londonderry roads trying to remove a large tree blocking the road at around 8 p.m. when Harbaugh pulled up in a van.

Harbaugh, according to the post, was given a pair of work gloves from Cooper and the two began to remove the tree as the ice falls.
