Harbaugh did a 'great job,' former U-M coach Carr says

For most of the seven years after he retired, Michigan coach Lloyd Carr tried to stay away from Schembechler Hall.

As a Hall of Fame coach, he said he didn’t want to distract from the coaches there, even if one of them was his protégé, Brady Hoke.

Now further removed and invited to visit regularly by current coach Jim Harbaugh, who was U-M's quarterback when Carr was the defensive backs coach in the mid-1980s, Carr saw this 9-3 comeback season up close.

“He did a great job,” Carr said Thursday on the “Rich Eisen Show.
